Biography

Katherine Lynn-Rose is an award-winning Chinese-Canadian writer/director, singer/songwriter, and actor passionate about Asian representation in the arts. Katherine wrote, directed, and starred in her debut short film Class Crush, which screened at international festivals including TIFF Next Wave, the National Film Festival for Talented Youth, and the Asian American International Film Festival. Her latest films, Silence and her honors thesis Top of My School, are currently in the festival circuit. In addition to writing and directing, Katherine has served as director of photography on several other short films. As a singer/songwriter, Katherine was a semi-finalist in the second season of Canada’s Got Talent, earning praise from all four judges, with Howie Mandel describing her performance as "Broadway-worthy." Her original music has amassed over 60 million streams across platforms, with her viral song “Top of My School” reaching the Top 100 in the Philippines. Katherine is represented by Rebel Creative Group for acting in theatre, film, and TV. Her stage credits include Wendla in Spring Awakening, L in Peerless, Mash in Stupid Fucking Bird, and Queen Elizabeth in Pulitzer Prize finalist David Feldshuh’s original play Orlando’s Gift. As a performing arts content creator, Katherine has built a TikTok audience of over 200K followers, where she shares behind-the-scenes videos as a film student, songwriter, and actor. Katherine graduated summa cum laude from Cornell University in May 2025 with a B.A. in Performing and Media Arts at Cornell University. This fall, she will begin her M.F.A. in Film at Columbia University.
