Biography

Rising star as both an actor and musical artist, Jason Patel, makes his silver screen debut as a leading role in UNICORNS, a highly anticipated independent feature film alongside Ben Hardy (LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT, BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY, X-MEN: APOCALYPSE) with a theatrical release this 5th July and later available on streaming. Directed by Sally El Hosaini (THE SWIMMERS) & James Krishna Floyd, the film’s premiere at TIFF23 & BFI LFF placed Patel on several Best Performers lists, with UNICORNS also winning Best of Fest at Palm Springs and BFI Flare. A graduate from Rose Bruford College, Jason first began on stage with credits including ‘Mowgli’ in THE JUNGLE BOOK and ‘Tinkerbell’ in PETER PAN while growing a prominent music career with singles such as One Last Dance, 6iX, and most recently Choclafied. Patel also wrote and performed music for UNICORNS, which will be featured on his upcoming EP ‘Delicious’ set to release later this year. His artistry has led to multiple accolades including BBC Introducing’s Artist of the Week and PinkNews naming Jason as one of the Trailblazing Artists of 2023 alongside Ncuti Gatwa and many more. Elsewhere, Jason will also be seen on BBC’s limited crime drama titled VIRDEE starring Staz Nair, directed by Mark Tonderai and produced by Stella Nwimo.
