Tom Brass is an EMMY award winning (and six-times EMMY nominated) Director, Creative director and writer, who specialises in creating rich and original animated worlds and telling gripping stories. Tom has spent the last four years developing and helming "Wolf King", Netflix’s hit animated fantasy franchise. Adapted from Curtis Jobling’s "Wereworld" novels, Tom led the ambitious project to transform the beloved literary property into a bold, high-stakes television series that deeply connects with a family audience. Before helming Wolf King, Tom spent over ten years as the creative director of Jellyfish Pictures, the BAFTA and Annie winning London studio. During his time there, he delivered countless high-profile animation and VFX projects for Netflix, Apple TV, Amazon Prime, Lucasfilm, Amblin, Stampede, BBC, PBS, and many more. Whilst at Jellyfish, Tom also assembled one of the most respected visual development teams in Europe and collaborated with film makers like Ridley Scott, Peter Ramsay and Jon Favreau. A particular highlight was their stunning work on "Prehistoric Planet" for Apple TV, which owes its breathtaking look to Tom’s team. Whilst at Jellyfish, Tom also co-ran Jellyfish Originals, the studio’s IP offshoot, where he developed a slate of animated series and feature projects. Tom and his team adapted multiple literary properties and developed original IPs, leading to a full commission for the upcoming Milkshake series Stan and Gran and development co-production deals with Mattel, Crayola and Bomanbridge. Before embarking on his career in animation, Tom spent his twenties illustrating comics and travelling the world as a documentary cameraman – an unorthodox blend of telling stories at a drawing board and capturing real people’s stories through a lens. He now applies the lessons learned in both worlds to his animation work. No matter how outlandish and ambitious a world he is creating, he always tells its story with heart, reality and integrity. Tom is represented by United Talent Agency, Los Angeles.
