Seán Lohia McParland is an indie filmmaker based on the Gold Coast, with roots stretching across New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Ireland, and Australia. He’s worked across independent film, commercial shoots, and larger productions, building a reputation for leading collaborative crews and guiding projects smoothly from pre-production through post. With a passion for inclusive storytelling, Seán creates safe, accessible spaces on set and behind the scenes. Through his work with Bus Stop Films, he writes, directs, and mentors emerging filmmakers with disabilities - helping to shape a film industry that’s more representative, creative, and human. Drawn to stories that explore love, friendship, identity, and personal growth, Sean gravitates toward grounded, human narratives with emotional depth. His work often centers on complex relationships, inner conflict, and quiet moments of transformation. Whether through drama, documentary, or experimental forms, he aims to capture the beauty in the everyday and create stories that resonate with honesty, empathy, and heart.
