For centuries, marble from the quarries of Carrara, Italy, has been prized by some of the greatest sculptors in history. Today, however, the art of hand-carving stone, a craft passed down through generations, is on the verge of disappearing, threatened by technological advances. It's now up to a small group of artists in Carrara to carry this tradition forward.
