One bite, then the Greenies

I sat down for True: Tricky Treat Day (2019) ready for seasonal homework. Plastic fangs. A speech about sharing. Another October special that exists because the calendar said so. Then the Yeti eats the wrong thing, the Rainbow Kingdom goes green, and I was stuck grinning at the mess.

True and her friends are celebrating Plumpkin Day, Halloween with extra pumpkin and a name that sounds like a kid made it up on the spot. A hungry Yeti sneaks a bite of a forbidden treat. Howling Greenies flood the streets, part gremlin, part toddler who found the candy corn.

The assignment is blunt. Undo the damage. Put the holiday back together.

There is no sermon about sugar. No fable about consumerism, though that fruit was hanging low. The movie wants the rush.

Loud, sticky, done in 23 minutes, before you have processed the crash.

True and her friends navigating a kingdom overrun by Howling Greenies, their faces lit with determination and just a hint of panic.
