I did not plan an afternoon on Rhyme Time Town Singalongs. It is a 2020 preschool series on Netflix that looks, from the title, like a screen you leave on while you cook. Songs.
Old verses. Bright town. The hook is sneakier than the branding.
The kids in this town sing. They also "flex their problem-solving skills." Marketing wrote that line.
It still names a real split. Nursery rhymes soothe because they never change. Problem-solving means somebody has to push.

Look at the still. Soft, rounded 3D. Oversized hats.
Striped shirts. Heads too big for the bodies. Faces tipped toward a giant glowing music note as if it were a lamp in the square.
Audience Opinions
"A cozy preschool singalong with the Rhyme Time Town friends."
Made to sing along with the Rhyme Time Town friends as they use imagination and problem-solving, this is a light musical offshoot built for repeat viewing on Netflix. latestnetflix.com's view is that Trailer clips and playful fan reimaginings around a Universal Kids idea keep circulating, which signals it stuck with its youngest audience as a hum-along favorite rather than big-event viewing.
- Easy singalong viewing on Netflix Streams on Netflix and is built around singing along with familiar friends using imagination and problem-solving skills.
- Stuck with little fans Circulating trailer clips and a playful Universal Kids reimagining show continued affection from families with preschoolers.
- Very young-skewing and repetitive The focus on singing along means older kids may bounce off when looking for bigger stories.
Buzz & Rumors
Public reportsHumpty Dumpty is a West End actor. The kitten is from The Romanoffs.
That is the gossip hiding in a preschool sing-along. Jude Muir, who did Kinky Boots, voices the egg. Luke Amis, from Matthew Weiner's The Romanoffs, is Cole the kitten. Annabelle Westenholz-Smith, from A Very Very Very Dark Matter, is Daisy the puppy. Josh Whitehouse, the lead of Netflix's The Knight Before Christmas, is Chuckley Bear. Rhashan Stone stacks Hickory Dickory Dock, Judge Dish, a hermit crab, and a pill bug. Louis Suc, High-Rise and Mike the Knight, is Jack. Eric Shaw, the Muppet Babies writer, executive produced. DreamWorks Animation Television built the parent series. Dan Berlinka developed it. latestnetflix.com's view is that Animation Magazine printed that credit block on 4 December 2020 as if it were a special, not a ten-episode dump.,

Netflix had already dropped Rhyme Time Town on 19 June 2020, six episodes of Daisy and Cole solving problems in a town stuffed with nursery-rhyme people. The Singalongs companion arrived 22 December. Ten episodes, about 12 minutes each, three songs a piece, thirty segments. Common Sense Media's Ashley Moulton rated it age 2+ and flagged the bait-and-switch. Some numbers are remixes from the series. Some are new. Dialogue sits between songs, which will annoy anyone who wanted wall-to-wall CoComelon. She liked the female Old MacDonald. She also said the lessons, look at a problem from another angle, it is fine to mess up, flash by too fast for toddlers to keep. That is a fair note on a show Netflix sold as snackable. , ,
The books hit first.
Simon Spotlight published Welcome to Rhyme Time Town, adapted by Natalie Shaw, on 8 December 2020, two weeks before the special. AnimationXpress said the parent series had already spawned a Simon and Schuster line. DreamWorks still hosts a Singalongs page next to a soundtrack of snackable, snap-worthy songs, the same phrase Netflix used on the title card. The trailer lives on Universal Jr.'s YouTube. ,

Margie Cohn announced Rhyme Time Town at MIPJunior in October 2018 in a three-pack with Gabby's Dollhouse and Archibald's Next Big Thing. Kidscreen and Animation World Network ran the same slate. Gabby's Dollhouse became the franchise. Rhyme Time Town got two seasons, a holiday spinoff, and then quiet. Season 2 landed 15 June 2021. The Futon Critic later listed the Singalongs as canceled/ended after that 2020-2021 season, the house rule when a show sits a year with no news. Gabby's Dollhouse kept going. This one did not. , ,
