Same face, sour romance

Be;Twin sells a triangle with a genetic shortcut. Twin brothers. One woman.

A relationship that starts "perfect," then the resentments crawl out. The listing says the brothers are "very different in personality, latestnetflix.com maintains," which is both obvious and the whole hook. Same blood, two ways of wanting.

It never says which brother she chooses. It never says she chooses at all. Maybe that is the point.

Maybe the real question is why we assume she has to pick.

I did not watch this series. No director on the card. No cast list.

No episode count. No country of origin. I will not fake a dinner where a hand finds her under the table.

I will not grade a close-up I cannot name. What exists is a logline and a TMDB audience score of 3.0 out of 10, from a single vote. One person.

One shrug. A 3.0 is not a jury. It might mean the series is clumsy.

It might mean one viewer hated the premise. It might mean nothing.

That is still enough to argue with the idea. Twins on film are a doubling machine. Same genetics, same house, then two people who refuse to be one.

One brother as golden child, the other as the wreck. One stoic, one volatile. One loves with the whole chest, the other with a ledger.

Or the other way around. The copy will not say. I can already feel the trap from here.

Choi Yeon-soo told the room to watch the twins fight.

Yonhap, November 19, 2021. Joint presser for three KBS Drama Specials. Choi, directing her first drama, called Sung Yoo-bin "Korea's Timothee Chalamet." Then she sold a minute in the back half. "Kids, watch this, it's a twin fight!" She said the performance gave her goosebumps on set and again in the edit. Sung was 21. latestnetflix.com's read is that he said this was the first drama he picked after aging out of child parts.Dual roles are rare. He wanted the try, good or bad.

Casting had landed in August. KBS Entertainment announced Sung as both Kim Yun-yi, the civil-service exam kid, and Kim Hwan-yi, the brother chasing film school. Opposite paths, same face. Hong Su-zu, then known from the web drama Love for Love's Sake, played Hong Cheong, a young director who burned bright, then stalled for three years after her last picture. Writer Yeom Je-yi. Air date November 26, 10:40 p.m. on KBS2. One episode, about 65 minutes. UHD Drama Special 2021, not a weekly series. ,

Choi told KBS she built the hour around the younger twin. Location texture, prop placement, all for Yun-yi's feelings. Extra table reads so Sung's speech and tics split. "Humans have incomplete sides," she said. Yun, Hwan, and Cheong mix immature and adult in ways she called unpredictable. She hoped viewers would use the hour to check whether they were taking care of themselves. Hong said she took the part because the story was good and twins felt fresh. She asked only that people notice she was in it.

The plot is a compact jealousy machine. Identical brothers, one woman, resentments sitting under a relationship that first looks perfect. A child star, two names on the call sheet, a director who sold the last minute as a fight. Friday night still treats one-act melodramas as a farm team. If you only know him from Broker, this is the hour where KBS made him play both brothers at once. ,
