García Márquez does not march a plot down a road. He folds time until past and present share a chair. When I heard Netflix was turning it into Cien Años de Soledad, my first feeling was not excitement.
It was dread. How do you film a book that was built to refuse the camera?
You do not. Not really. You cannot. That might not be the point.
I have not watched the series. I will not invent yellow flowers falling on a set. I will not grade a Buendía I have not seen.
