Gurneal "Neal" Ahluwalia

During a 21-day bachelor trip before his wedding, Neal falls in love with Nikki, a woman he slept with. Things get further complicated when Nikki turns out to be his fiancee's cousin.
I remember the first time I saw Neal ’N’ Nikki listed on a streaming platform. It was late, I was scrolling out of boredom, and the tagline—"Nice is out... Naughty is in"—felt like a dare.
What kind of movie announces itself with the subtlety of a neon sign in a strip mall? I clicked. I regretted it.
But here’s the thing: I couldn’t look away.
That’s the paradox of Arjun Sablok’s 2005 rom-com. It’s a film so aggressively bad it loops back around to being fascinating. Not in the way of a cult classic—there’s no midnight-screening energy here—but in the way of a car crash you slow down to gawk at.
You know it’s ugly, you know it’s wrong, but you can’t quite believe what you’re seeing.

The premise is simple enough: Neal (Uday Chopra), a soon-to-be-married Indian guy, takes a bachelor trip to Canada and falls for Nikki (Tanishaa Mukerji), a free-spirited woman he sleeps with. The twist? Nikki is his fiancée’s cousin.
Cue the rom-com chaos. But the film doesn’t just stumble into its own mess—it sprints toward it with the grace of a drunk man on ice.
Take the opening scene. Neal, in a voiceover that sounds like it was recorded in a bathroom stall, declares, "I was about to get married, but I wasn’t ready." Cut to him dry-humping a woman in a club while his friends cheer him on. The camera lingers on her cleavage like it’s trying to memorize the coordinates.
This isn’t seduction; it’s a PowerPoint presentation on how not to woo someone. And yet, somehow, Nikki falls for him. Not because of his charm, not because of his wit, but because the script demands it.
The film treats attraction like a vending machine: insert awkwardness, receive romance.
The dialogue is where Neal ’N’ Nikki truly shines—if by "shines" you mean "radiates the desperate energy of a man who just discovered the word 'sexy' and won’t shut up about it." Lines like "Your body is like a temple, and I want to pray at it" and "I’m not a player, I’m just a lover" aren’t just bad; they’re proudly bad. They don’t even aspire to cleverness.
"A forgettable romantic comedy with weak humor and excessive skin-show, saved only by its soundtrack and occasional charm."
Viewers found *Neal 'N' Nikki* largely underwhelming, criticizing its thin plot, forced humor, and over-reliance on risqué content to mask weak writing. The soundtrack and production values were frequently praised as the film’s strongest elements, offering brief moments of enjoyment. latestnetflix.com's take is that however, the lack of depth in characters and predictable storyline left most feeling indifferent or disappointed.

The same chat put the kissing in a family context. She and Uday Chopra started dating on the British Columbia shoot, so the scenes felt like work with a boyfriend. The kissing is still the question that follows the title. , , ,
