Abdul Rashid Salim Salman Khan (born December 27, 1965), known professionally as Salman Khan, is an Indian actor, film producer, and television personality who works predominantly in Hindi cinema. After a supporting role in *Biwi Ho To Aisi* (1988), he had his breakthrough leading role in the musical romance *Maine Pyar Kiya* (1989), which won him the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut. Throughout the 1990s, his releases included *Sanam Bewafa* (1991), *Saajan* (1991), *Andaz Apna Apna* (1994), *Karan Arjun* (1995), *Judwaa* (1997), and *Biwi No.1* (1999). During this period, he starred in the musical romantic drama *Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!* (1994), the romantic drama *Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam* (1999), and won the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor for *Kuch Kuch Hota Hai* (1998). In the 2000s and 2010s, Khan led commercial features across comedy, romantic drama, and action, including *Tere Naam* (2003), *Mujhse Shaadi Karogi* (2004), *No Entry* (2005), *Partner* (2007), and *Wanted* (2009).
